Way of Life
charcoal on paper 73.6cm x 52cm This piece is about what poverty takes away from humanity. The dismal mood is set through the monochromatic black and white. While the two people in the front made it through hard times, poverty took the life of the faded boy in the back. The figures in the background are blurry. The white figure in the background represents an angel, and the black figures represent death, approaching the two people in the front. From foreground to background, the people progress from being realistic to a dream. Reference is taken from a collaborating photographer, 吕晓露, Lv Xiao Lu. |
